After getting up today we went to the Circus Circus Buffet for breakfast. Although the prices are considerably higher compared to our last visit it is worth it – the assortment is wide enough, and we all became sated for the day.
This day should be car-free, today only Las Vegas was on the list. We started with a walk along The Strip. Interesting to see what has changed or will be changed in near future at daylight. In the Dress For Less we did some shopping. Then we were thirsty – and appalled by the price: $3.50 for lemonade! Ok, at least it was tasty. On we went, we wanted to take a look at the white tigers in The Mirage – but the next frustration: they can only be visited in the Secret Garden with an entrance fee of such an amount that we decided to let it be. After that we went back to our hotel, the midday heat hit us without mercy, so we wanted to take some rest and recreation.
After a one hour break we started over again, this time into the other direction of The Strip. The destination was the Stratosphere Tower, which of course had to be visited by some of us. The high-speed elevator ride already was an experience, 3 floors a second. In the 108th floor it stops, from there you can go onto both of the observation decks. And the view from that decks is fabulous – here you can see that Las Vegas is indeed in the middle of the desert.
On the way back we entered The World Largest Gift Shop, where our youngest traveler finally got a cute cuddly bear. After that we only wanted back to our hotel, because the hunger came back… We didn’t satisfy it at the buffet today; we wanted to know if there’s something a little cheaper. We finally ended up in the Garden Grill; it was a little cheaper, but we weren’t really happy at all. And if one compares the selection and mainly the beverage price the buffet is not expensive anymore.
After diner we went again along The Strip. Quite speedy we took the way up to the Treasure Island, where the next attraction awaited us – the battle of the Sirens against the Pirates. Jennifer was absolutely excited by that show, and it was really worth seeing. After the show we went on, found something to drink in the Bellagio - for really “fair” prices. And visited another show – the water games in front of the Bellagio. After only a few minutes of waiting we could enjoy the show with Elvis’ “Viva Las Vegas”. Awesome! But after that we were so tired from walking all day that we went back to our hotel to find some rest. On the way we enjoyed a beer – what made the way a little easier. Finally we arrived at the hotel, said “Good Night” to each other and went to our rooms.
