After having slept well we went for breakfast around 8:30. This time there was a little bigger choice – not overwhelming, but sufficient. We enjoyed the meal and were fortified for the day.

This one we started with a tour to the north of L.A. A parking lot at Vine Street was found quickly, and then we rushed into the turmoil of Hollywood. Even if the glamour of past times is long ago one has to have seen this part of the city. See the Hollywood sign and stroll along the Walk Of Fame. Many stars are embedded there, of more or less famous artists. After some time we reached Man’s Chinese Theater, the place where the Hollywood hype took its beginnings. We saw the hand and foot prints of the altogether well-known artists here (of course we also tried if our hands and feet fit into); some pictures were taken.

Then we made our way back at the opposite side of the street. We stopped at a Starbucks, had a tasty coffee and some snacks. After a short time we noticed some security guards on electro-scooters at the other side of the street. The scooters looked interesting. And somehow they noticed that they were photographed and filmed, and all at once they crossed the street and came over to ourselves – and they asked if we want to take some pictures on their scooters. Great, this friendliness! Of course we used this opportunity and all were happy.

Then we went back to the car, our feet became tired. And so we took a motorized sight-seeing tour thru L.A. then. First we drove along Hollywood Boulevard, and then we turned towards the heights of Beverly Hills, where the expensive mansions are. The street went quite uphill and was very winding. Some of the villas were to see from far, but too far away to really recognize anything. Atop was a view point from where we had a good sight over the city. After a photo stop we went the same winding road downhill until reaching Sunset Boulevard. We followed this road towards the Pacific crossing Beverly Hills. Here the town looked different from Hollywood, more beautiful homes and considerably more well-kept.

After reaching the Pacific we went back to the motel. On the way we filled up – at an intersection with heavy traffic. But it didn’t matter, at last we were on holiday so we didn’t mind some minutes of waiting time.

Back at the motel we rested for an hour before heading for dinner. Again we went to Norma’s Restaurant, and again the service was great and the meals were delicious. We filled our tummies, and on the way back we bought something to drink for the night and had an easy evening at the motel.
