Well-rested we wanted to check the motel breakfast today. The selection was a little better than in the motel before, the coffee was nearly to be called strong. The chocolate muffins were delicious – so we were strong enough to start our tour.

Today’s destination was the Yosemite National Park. After nearly 2 hours driving we reached the park entrance. A first stop we made at the Merced River, the one crossing the Yosemite valley, fed by a lot of waterfalls. The river is first smooth then rapid, and it has beautiful, clear, cold water. Wonderful!

Then we went on through the woods. We saw some smaller waterfalls aside, could stop some times and have a look at the beautiful nature. At a lookout we enjoyed the view over the incredible scenery, before we went for the main part of the park. After a short tunnel there was a parking lot with an amazing vista. The mountains and the woods and the waterfalls, among them the Bridalveil Fall. What a superb photo motif! And exactly there we wanted to go next – to that beautiful waterfall, which got its name because of its look remembering a bridal veil. We couldn’t get to close, otherwise we would have gotten an ice-cold shower for free. Anyway, the impression and the roaring of the waterfall are simply breathtaking.

Afterwards we went to the visitor center, on the way back we watched some funny squirrels. Another short drive followed, after which the next short hike led us to the Yosemite Falls, the fifth highest waterfalls on earth – 739 meters high. Gigantic! Here we couldn’t get to close either, but it was absolutely worth seeing anyway. In any case we got close enough to have some nice pictures taken. And even if we got some drops of water – it was worth it.

After that we headed for the park exit, we stopped once again at another pretty waterfall. Then we drove towards the motel, because the time was advanced already we let Kate show us the fastest way. Of course Kate knows some shortcuts which led us through a residential area, but in the end we reached known roads and in the shortest possible time through the beautiful nature Fresno.

After a short break we went off for dinner, today the Old Spaghetti Factory was on. Unfortunately this one doesn’t exist in L.A. anymore so we took our last chance here. And the interior immediately recalled the impressions from L.A. The restaurant is well furnished, the meals are delicious, and after all we are – thanks to the entrees and an ice cream as desert, all included – really saturated.

On the way back to the motel we bought something to drink, then we enjoyed the evening and prepared for the next day.
