After all had rested very well we went for breakfast. Looking into the motel’s breakfast room offered us a very sparse choice – no, we didn’t like to eat here. So we went to the IHoP and had a satisfying breakfast there.

Then we started our sightseeing tour through San Francisco. We found a parking garage near Fisherman’s Wharf and rushed into the crowd. There still were some clouds, but this didn’t disturb us. Alcatraz was giving itself photogenic already, and at Pier 39 some seals were cavorting. The shopping arcade at Pier 39 looked interesting, too – even if one hadn’t to buy something here because of the prices.

Now we had a look at the food stalls at Fisherman’s Wharf. But it wasn’t the perfect thing. SO we went down the street and reached the terminal stop of the Cable Car. We wanted to take a ride, even if it got a little more expensive – one way for $5. So we enjoyed the ride nearly to the other terminal stop. Afterwards we had to go back all the way by foot…

In doing so we didn’t want to miss the famous part of the Lombard Street. But to get there we had to go up and down some of San Francisco’s hills. At the end our tongues nearly met the street, because it had gotten sunny in the meantime, and for local means really warm. But the view of the city, onto the bay and finally the Lombard Street compensated all the strains.

Then we picked up our car – we had parked it for very “accommodating” rates, $2 for 20 minutes! But the heck with it… And so we drove towards the Golden Gate Bridge. There we found a parking lot near the bridge, and there it was $1 per hour. So we started to explore the bridge by foot. It was windy, sunny, and there was no fog at the Golden Gate Bridge. Pure luck, what a wonderful view!

After the visiting tour we headed back for the motel, we all were a little tired from walking. We made a stop-over at the airport where we wanted to ask for an early check-in (what unfortunately isn’t possible). We brought our souvenirs to the motel and had now only one destination: the IHoP, because we all were hungry!

The meals were tasty, all became sated. Following this we organized a dessert for our youngest one at the opposite gas station, and then we went for our rooms. We had another photo show, and then we let the evening come to an end.
