After indeed sleeping a little longer today - till 7.30 a.m. - we had breakfast, and then we started a long tour, about 280 miles we had to go today.

First stop was at the Four Corners Monument, the only place on earth where 4 countries (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah) meet. Four Corners is located within the Navajo reservation; the Navajo sell there a lot of handmade goods - jewelry, paintings, bows and arrows, pottery... It's simply nice to even watch how these things are produced. Of course not everything is low priced, but with some comparison one can find a bargain.

We went on in direction of the Monument Valley. The next target was Goosenecks State Park, only a few miles before the beginning of the Monument Valley. There you can see the San Juan River on its way through the land, which carved itself into the sandstone during millions of years, in the meantime nearly 1.000 feet deep. Within an air-line distance of 1 mile the river winds for about 6 miles..

Afterwards we started the last part of this day's tour; roughly 150 miles lay ahead of us. We made several stops in the Monument Valley to have a look at the beautiful mesas. On and on along the highway, also across some even heavy rain showers, our way brought us to today's target - Page, Arizona. Finally arrived temperatures had risen again to about 90°F, so we could jump into the motel's pool even today. For dinner we went to Denny’s, where today we even enjoyed a tasty dessert with ice cream.
