Before starting to the Great Salt Lake today we did some sightseeing.

Salt Lake City and its famous Mormon Temple (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) were due to be visited today. Really impressive what the pioneers have built up there. There the saying that faith can move mountains becomes true.

The temple itself can't be visited from the inside, that's reserved to the Mormons. But the building looks even good from the outside.

The Tabernacle, home of the world famous Tabernacle Choir, and its impressive organ with more than 11.000 pipes offer unbelievable acoustics. It's really true that you can hear the ripping of a newspaper or the fall of a pin anywhere in this building.

Around Temple Square there are some more monumental building belonging to the church.

Fascinating is the numbering of the streets in Salt Lake City: all starts at Temple Square - our motel was at street 10.000 something already...

After an unsuccessful conversion trial by a young 'sister' we went on with today's tour. Now we were heading for the Great Salt Lake, to Antelope Island, the biggest island in there. We've seen bison living in the wild, could imagine the life at the beginning of the 20th century at the old ranch. And Jennifer was bathing her feet in the salty water.

So we again had a very interesting day today.
