Yes, again we wanted to sleep a little longer today. But as even Jennifer was wide awake a few moments after 7 a.m. we started even this day early.

First we were looking for some breakfast buffet. This was found quickly, but as we knew the Las Vegas one already we were pretty disappointed about the quite limited assortment – many motels did offer quite the same. But the heck with it - we didn't leave the buffet hungry.

Today's trip led us to the small town of Virginia City. Around 1860 gold and silver was found in the mountains surrounding that place, and the city was founded. In her heydays about 20.000 residents lived here, there were 110 bars, 4 banks, 6 churches and an opera where even Caruso performed. One famous resident was Mark Twain. But after all gold and silver was mined the city decayed and now has just about 800 residents. On the other hand the tourism is booming, mainly concentrating on C street, the main street with partly wooden walkways.

Back in Reno we wanted to see something of that town, but again we were a little disappointed. No comparison to Las Vegas.

So we had a comfortable afternoon at the hotel and were waiting for dinner. But before that we attended two circus shows for free with fantastic artists. The dinner was again taken at the buffet, and we had more than enough. Digestive to us was the waiter who surely would deserve the name Speedy Gonzales. That fast we haven't seen anyone clearing a table...
