Today, after getting up and having breakfast, we went out for the next station of our journey. And today's leg was long, really long... More than 500 miles in distance, from Salt Lake City to Reno.

After leaving Salt Lake City behind we still drove along the Great Salt Lake for an eternity - certainly for 2 hours. At the beginning there still was blue water, later only salt and sand. Occasionally we were alone on the freeway, sometimes we could look for light-years without the road doing any turn.

A first stop was made in Wendover, a city split by the border between Utah and Nevada. We wanted to have some coffee and along the way have a look at the big neon cowboy in front of a casino there.

From Wendover it was still about 400 miles to go, with another stopover for some lunch. We had to pass a few road constructions, and at the end Reno was in front of us, with it a little more traffic at this advanced afternoon hour. But even this Ines was mastering perfectly.

When we approached our hotel, the Circus Circus, and saw the big tower, Ronny joked that we'll get a room in the upper floor. Ok, parking, checking in, and when the clerk asked if we preferred a room in the lower or in the upper part of the building Jennifer said 'up'. Now we indeed got a room in the very top floor – in this case the 28th floor... This of course offers some great views on the city.

For dinner we went to the hotel buffet, where we had a big selection as used from Las Vegas - one couldn't even think about tasting everything. But all meals were good, and filled up we did a short stroll through the hotel before heading back for our room.
